IT POPPED INTO MY HEAD that with the proliferation of zoom during this pandemic, I could attend Buddhist meditation groups almost anywhere. So I took a look, and yes, they are happening in every corner of the USA. With that in mind, I set out to attend a group meditation in every state.
I wondered about a 'theme' or something specific to discover and realized I didn't really have one. As a goal, it does lock me in to more practice. Curiosity is a value of mine; I've found that exploring places and people has always been enriching. Given that I've chosen the USA as the place to explore, I'm sure there is a theme there. As Kobutsu Malone said to me once, 'we haven't yet seen the face of American Buddhism'. But that was 30 years ago.
Wish me luck!
Venturing alphabetically, I am off to Alabama!
